Slowboys Rescue

Ride with purpose.

Slowboys Rescue exists because community should mean more than showing up for the good days. When people need support, the same network that organises rides, meets and events can organise practical help — faster, and with far less noise.

Where it began

2020. Meals, not statements.

The initiative began during the 2020 pandemic with a simple goal: help provide meals to people facing immediate hardship. The programme set an initial target of four thousand meals. What made it work was not funding — it was a network of riders who already knew their cities, could move at short notice, and did not need a committee to agree before loading a bike.

That target was passed quickly. The existing site records that almost one hundred thousand meals were eventually delivered through Rescue and its collaborations, and the work widened from food into emergency response, including support directed toward Ukraine.

Those figures are held here as historical milestones. They will be published as headline impact numbers only once the supporting records are verified and dated. We would rather under-claim than publish an undated cumulative figure.

What Rescue becomes now

A living impact record

Rescue is moving from a frozen pandemic story to an accountable, continuously updated record. Every active project states its full working out in public, on one page, using the same eight fields — so a supporter in Accra, London or Lagos can read the same project and reach the same conclusion.

The objective is not to look charitable. It is to be accountable. A project that falls short will stay published with the shortfall shown.

How Rescue works

Six rules we do not bend

01

Feed first, talk later

Rescue began with meals, not a mission statement. Every project starts from a need someone has named out loud, in a place a member can reach on a bike.

02

Local hands, local knowledge

We do not parachute in. Work is delivered through kitchens, shelters, clinics and community groups already trusted in the area, with Slowboys carrying logistics, funding and labour.

03

Show the working out

Every project publishes the need, the partner, the target, what was committed and what was actually delivered — with the date it was last checked.

04

No photographs of dignity being taken

We document work, not the faces of people at their lowest. Consent is asked for and can be withdrawn at any time.

05

Money moves once

Funds go from supporter to delivery partner with the shortest possible route and no cut retained for the brand.

06

Membership is never for sale

Buying Rescue merchandise supports the work. It does not buy standing, access or the mark.

Workstreams

Four strands of work

Food & essentials

Cooked meals, food parcels and basic household supplies delivered through kitchens and community groups. The original strand, and still the largest.

Emergency & conflict response

Rapid, practical support where crisis or conflict has cut off supply — including the Peace to Ukraine programme, run with partners on the ground.

Road safety & rider welfare

Riders looking after riders: gear for those who cannot afford it, training support, and help for members and families after serious incidents.

Youth & mentorship

Workshops, garage days and mentoring with young people through motorcycles, engineering and craft — the fraternity's own route into discipline and pride.

Get involved

Four ways in

Rescue is open to anyone who respects the mark — you do not have to be inducted to give a day, a skill or a vehicle.

Ride

Join a chapter Rescue run. Riders carry supplies, presence and attention to places that receive very little of all three.

Give

Buy a Rescue piece or contribute directly to a named, published project rather than a general fund.

Deliver

Kitchens, shelters, clinics and community groups can apply to become a delivery partner.

Work

Drivers, cooks, translators, mechanics, medics, photographers and organisers are all needed. Skills over slogans.

Support Rescue

Turn support into action

The Rescue T-shirt is a public piece — anyone who respects the mark can wear it. Buying Rescue merchandise does not confer membership. Each Rescue product page states the current project, the exact contribution model, the reporting period and the organisation receiving funds.
