The Standard

THE CODE

The Code is the reason the family has held together across borders and eras. It is accepted in full at induction and it applies everywhere the mark is worn.

  1. 01

    RESPECT PEOPLE

    • Bullying, harassment, racism, sexism, homophobia and other degrading or discriminatory behaviour are incompatible with Slowboys membership.
    • Treat members, non-members, venue staff, event organisers, road users and the wider public with respect.
    • Disagreement does not excuse abusive conduct. Members are expected to represent the fraternity with maturity online and in person.
  2. 02

    RESPECT THE MARK

    • Official Slowboys artwork must not be altered, reproduced or adapted without permission.
    • Do not add unauthorised wording, geographic labels, icons or patches to the official marks.
    • Do not manufacture unofficial merchandise, stickers, decals or commercial products using Slowboys artwork.
    • Professional or semi-professional use of Slowboys merchandise in media, music videos or campaigns should be approved by the Slowboys Team in advance.
  3. 03

    RESPECT THE COMMUNITY

    • Participate in meets, rides and events when reasonably possible. Slowboys is an active fraternity, not a passive badge.
    • At cafés, tracks, venues, ride-outs and public spaces, remember that your conduct affects whether those places remain welcoming to the wider family.
    • Official country or chapter communications are created or approved by the Slowboys Team. Unofficial groups should not present themselves as official Slowboys channels.
    • If you already actively represent another riding group, be transparent before applying. Loyalty and clarity are valued more than collecting affiliations.
  4. 04

    RESPECT OFFICIAL MERCHANDISE

    • Member apparel represents membership and should be worn with respect.
    • Official merchandise may only be sold or distributed through authorised Slowboys channels unless written approval is given for a specific campaign, giveaway or auction.
    • Purchasing public or Rescue merchandise does not confer membership.

Enforcement

THE STANDARD IS NOT DECORATIVE

Breaches are reviewed by the Slowboys Team. Depending on severity, the response may be a conversation, a formal warning, suspension of member access, or removal from the fraternity and withdrawal of the right to wear the mark.

Members are encouraged to raise concerns directly and privately rather than publicly. The house protects people first.

The formal appeals process and reporting channel are being finalised with the Slowboys Team and will be published here rather than described vaguely.
